| "В Сети появились новые подробности о третьем дополнении к Warhammer 40 000: Dawn of War. Мы уже сообщали, что одной из новых рас в Warhammer 40 000: Dawn of War – Soulstorm станут темные эльдары. Теперь же можно с уверенностью говорить о том, что к ним присоединятся сестры битвы (Sisters of Battle) – воинственные амазонки, предпочитающие прочные доспехи и не испытывающие жалости к врагам Империи. Кроме того, издатели заявили, что авторы оригинальной игры из Relic не занимаются разработкой аддона, видимо, сосредоточившись на сиквеле. За создание Soulstorm отвечает Iron Lore, ранее выпустившая Titan Quest. Дополнение поступит в продажу в первой половине 2008 года."

| Вот что разыскал о Вархаммере:
Игра будет называться Warhammer 40000: Dawn of War - Soulstorm.
Как они сообщают, нам предстоит управлять Элитными армиями и покорять планеты и целые системы в Эпической Синглплеерной кампании, за расы: Space Marine, Eldar и другие. Мета-кампания, теперь позволяет выбирать количество миссий для того, чтобы захватить планету или систему. В кампании также ожидается смена погоды, развивающийся по ходу миссий сюжет и различные оппоненты. В Dawn of War II игроку представится возможность медленно воспитать свою армию, где в начале игрок будет руководить "зелеными" новичками, пока, по мере прохождения кампании они не превратятся в элитные части. Именно игрок будет решать, в каком именно направлении ему развивать свою армию, он будет выбирать какое оружие\танки и т.д. нужно добавить в свои войска. Помимо вышесказанного, игрок будет управлять Полководцем, который сможет находить и одевать на себя различные уникальные предметы и оружие, которые будут найдены на планетах.

<p>Hark: here is a strange tale of two DevOps tools. Once upon a time, there was a Microsoft product called Team Foundation Server (TFS). The online version of TFS then became Visual Studio Online, which became Visual Studio Team Services, which is now Azure DevOps.</p>
<p>And then Microsoft bought Github in 2018, which is also a DevOps tool and shares a lot of the same features. I mean, what is that about?</p>
<p>Microsoft bought GitHub to heighten its focus on open-source development and bring Microsoft?s developer tools to new audiences, and now they have two very mature and very popular DevOps tools. Let me explain some of the differences and similarities between the two, and give you a clearer understanding of why there are two, and where each fits in. But first, a useful table of comparisons.</p>

<h3>Closed vs Open Source</h3>
<p>Traditionally GitHub has been one of the go-to places for open source communities and projects. Large, well-known projects such as Bootstrap and Node.js are hosted on GitHub, and even most of the Microsoft code base for developer tools and languages is also available on GitHub as open-source. While public projects are free on GitHub, they also offer paid private repositories.</p>
<p>Azure DevOps is more corporate in approach and while you can definitely host public projects, this is not what the platform is known for. A lot of enterprise-level companies use Azure DevOps as part of their approved product suite.</p>
<h3>Continuous Integration and Deployment</h3>
<p>Continuous integration, or CI, is the process of continually merging any new code into the master/common code base and building it to make sure nothing is broken. ?Fail early? is one of the mantras connected to CI, the thought being that the earlier you find bugs, the easier and cheaper they are to fix.</p>
<p>GitHub has a relatively new feature called ?Actions?. These actions can ?automate, customize, and execute your software development workflows right in your repository?, including setting up a CI process.</p>

<p>Azure DevOps has an entire section of the platform dedicated to CI. Pipelines is a mature and fully featured service to handle both your CI and CD, continuous delivery. In fact, a lot of the GitHub Actions functionality is built on the same platform as Azure DevOps.</p>

<p>A big part of an effective DevOps process means having effective project management to keep track of tasks and timelines, issues, and schedules. Both GitHub and Azure DevOps have tools to help project managers, but are they equal?</p>
<p>GitHub Projects is a lesser-known part of GitHub, which offers a good project management platform for code projects already in GitHub.</p>

As well as working seamlessly with other parts of Azure DevOps, Boards has over 1,000 extensions too for integrating with almost any other system you need to. Get notifications on Slack, hook into AWS services, or create automated documentation.</p>

<p>Ask almost any open source project where their code is hosted, and it will be GitHub. Code management is where GitHub has its roots. It is its spirit animal. Everything you could possibly do with pull requests, branching, code reviews, and everything else is here.</p>
<p>Azure DevOps has a good code repository offering too, but it isn?t a spirit animal. More like a third favorite child. It works very well, and it does almost everything you want for your projects.</p>
<h3>On-Premises</h3>
<p>What if you don?t trust this new-fangled cloud stuff? You may have security concerns about hosting the code for your new Nicholas Cage image hosting service in the cloud. Good news! You can get a self-hosted version of both GitHub and Azure DevOps.</p>
<p>GitHub Enterprise is the offering from GitHub and provides all the features from GitHub.com. Similarly, Azure DevOps Server comes on 3872 floppy disks for your installation pleasure.</p>
<h3>Reputation</h3>
<p>Azure DevOps came from TFS, possibly one of the Microsoft products with the biggest love/hate division amongst users. Azure DevOps has inherited some of that division. Throughout the many changes and rebranding exercises has emerged a modern tool that is a far cry from the old TFS days, but the memory still lingers at times.</p>
<p>GitHub on the other hand is the default platform for a lot of DevOps tasks, especially anything to do with code management. Most companies will have a development stack that somewhere uses GitHub.</p>
<h3>Final DevOps Thoughts</h3>
<p>All those comparisons are well and good, but being that the two products are so similar, why have two? Part of the reason is that GitHub was becoming both a huge repository of Microsoft code and also a competitor. The popularity of GitHub still endures today and now their audience also has access more directly to the, frankly, excellent developer tools that Microsoft produces.</p>
<p>So, which should you choose? The non-committal answer of course is ?it depends?. What kind of project are you creating? Which DevOps features do you require? Which kind of systems do you need to connect and automate?</p>
<p>Hopefully, you at least now have an idea of where to start and which platform to try out first. They are both excellent in different ways.</p>

<p>In order to stay competitive, eliminate inefficiency, and maximize profit, every company should strive to continuously improve processes. For every process, there will be a newer and more efficient way of doing things. A recent example of this is how companies implemented Agile to improve software development. Now, that process has evolved to include DevOps. In fact, 90% of organizations have implemented or plan to implement DevOps to ensure the success of their digital projects.</p>
<p>But many application projects are still failing to deliver business value. It?s time to improve the process again. It?s time to evolve from DevOps. It?s time to move to BizDevOps.</p>
<h2>Agile, DevOps, BizDevOps: How it all started</h2>
<p>To understand the next step in process improvement, let?s take a look back. In the 1990s, software companies found immense improvement in solution development by implementing Agile processes. At the turn of the 21st century, the Agile movement made a lot of traditional, stodgy companies profitable. Using the Agile framework, leaping advances in technology were introduced from informal teams turning out skunkworks projects.</p>
<p>In 2001, when the Agile manifesto was published, desktop apps were more prevalent than cloud/SaaS technology and teams could afford infrequent releases. Now that Agile manifesto is old enough to drive and vote, striving to make your development team follow Agile is not going to make the company stand out. IT needs an inclusive framework that focuses not only on software development but also factors in the operations or deployment of the solution. This need has given rise to DevOps.</p>
<p>The prevalent evolution of Agile (and Lean) methods is DevOps. DevOps is a set of practices that combines software development (Dev) and IT operations (Ops) to shorten the cycle to deliver features, fixes, and updates to end-users while keeping solutions reliable, scalable, and secure. DevOps focuses on a better understanding of what users do in production, then, in turn, uses that knowledge to improve user experiences at a rapid, iterative pace. In contrast, the traditional software development processes required predictive guesses and rare validation on what features and optimizations users would most benefit.</p>

<p>DevOps removes obstacles that have historically stood in the way of solution deployment. Gone are the days when pushing code into production involved tons of red tape, weekend go-lives, and late-night troubleshooting. Now automated CI/CD pipelines compile the code, test the apps, and deploy everything automatically. On the operations side, the hardware is now abstracted by the term ?cloud?, with auto-provisioned environments, automated resource optimization, and high availability. This abstraction dramatically reduces production outages, especially when compared to internet service providers from a decade ago.</p>
<p>While DevOps bridges the divide between the technical departments of development and operations when it comes to building applications that meet business outcomes, about 30 to 35% of the IT projects fail. The reason for this is often the lack of collaboration between business stakeholders and IT, which results in a gap between what teams develop and what the business requires.</p>
<p>To address this gap, the DevOps processes evolved to include the business (Biz) stakeholders. BizDevOps is a software development approach that brings together the non-technical business users, developers, and operations teams into the rapid delivery of customized solutions that align with business and market requirements.</p>
